In realaity what is a game? what dosent affect a seconed of your life? Nothing! So therefore what can be veiwed as a game? What makes something that seems so pointless band together a brotherhood of sorts.

We never even met face to face.

What are we? Some would call us fools..geeks..nerds...? We have placed sword against sword..Axe against axe...Dream aginst dream? all in a MMRPG?

We make choices that define our lives..one of those choices was to play..Sherwood..Wether you see it as a pastime..Or your way of entertainment..Or simply a place to see even more friends we have all chosen Sherwood.

Too many times have I heared people say..Its a game so what? ..If your playing that game with that attitude then you really need to rethink your life..One thing ALL MAN has in common

We Live....We Die..not one among is going to be spared that.At some point..when God says now ..You WILL die.

Are you ready? have you done something withyour life? at that moment..when your life is all laid out before you...Why did you even bother to play sherwood?

Personly it is not the game..It is the peps.

In death one thing matters...That you know Jesus Christ and have been saved.

NOTHING else will matter to you... so why play sherwood? to this I bring back..What is a game?

In sherwood the people we meet often are simply..the other guy..no real thought gose into who this person is. This is wrong. We should value every person as if we know them face by face.

A christian should try to be a Light to ALL others..not just the people we meet in the cafe or on a street or a store. We should be lights to EVERYONE..even the computer peps.

Often we let the simple..I dont know the guy. Blind us

So why play the game? If its as pointless as that why are you even there?

I have heared some of my best friends say " its just a game"

How is it JUST a game? you sit down...click it..type a name in..then click enter in a world of Sherwood.

But its JUST a game? nobody really dies there....nobody really matters here...

So WHY play it?

We have many resons.....but for one to truely understand Sherwood one must not veiw it as a Game..simply another part of life unlike the rest.

We do alot of this for fun. I want you ALL to post WHY you play sherwood?

HOW has it influanced your life?

In Truth....

Sherwood Ancients: why is it the Golden Age of sherwood? it had its flaws. It had its complaints. infact probley more than Classis or Dungeons!

Yet it is our Golden Age.

Sherwood Classic: it too had its problems..it was veiwed as a horrible Copy.

Then came Dungeons....Classic imeditly became SOMETHING just as Ancients had.

In the End...What do we see? WHAT HAVE WE DONE!

When I started playing Sherwood I considered it "just a game". I thought of it as just entertainment, & nothing of it. But that all changed after I found a forum called the Sherwood Coalition Forces. At first I thought it was run by random people with random members just to argue about silly stuff. But what I found was that everyone was open & free as tho it were one big family. Sure enough we arnt really related(without going into relegion), & most of us wont probably meet at all in our lives, but we treat & act as if we were ALL family and have know each other forever. Joining the Coalition Forces made me relize that its "just not a game", & its not our life, but a life we wish to live. Playing Sherwood gives you a virtrial life, that you can make decisions & do stuff you normally cant do. The virtrail life rarely counter sides with your real life. We all play games at some point in our life, weather its virtrail, pretend, or something inbetween, we all know what its like to live a life of your dreams. That is why most people play these types of games, they want to live there fantasies. But those who play & call it "just a game" dont know what they are missing. & thats why its not just a game, its our lives..........

Why do I play Sherwood? I play because it has had the best community since any game, Ancient Sherwood or Dungeon, the community is and was just that. It's the best game I can play with good graphics, lord knows what you can play with a Standard 2001 Windows XP...

Lemme name all the reasons that I played for all the Sherwoods.

Ancient Sherwood. I played for it's epic win, for it's community that had n00bs, but the kind that made you laugh instead of be a total noob and boot you. I played for it's graphics, now it was better then any game I've played yet on the Internet...Of course I havn't played alot, lol. I played that just because that the first time I played, I'd knew I'd love it and have it be my primary game.


Classic? No where near as good as Ancient. But it had it's good parts. Clans, I could just sit back and watch a war all day if I wanted. ...Really I just played it cause' of the general community I knew of, I didn't know alot of people, but I knew some.


Dungeons? Now, I don't care if I'm an Ancientantian or however you pronounce it. It IS better then Classic in my opinion, but NOT as good as Ancient. I love the game because just like classic, the like minded Community would move from Classic to Dungeon, and that what has kept my Sherwood life alive. There are clans I can join...There are just so many things....Now I call Dungeons Sherwood Sewer at some points..But that's when I recall all the fund memories of Ancient, Cuz Classic and Ancient stayed on the homepage till Dungeons came and totally wiped out Ancient.


I really like Dungeons because I can be who I want to be. I can be a Beserker running around with Giant hammers yelling "ME SMASH!" If I want to. I can Role play with my friends to defeat the "Mighty Dragon" Even if at times I one hit it smile.gif

And then of course having the hackers....Now I F#cking hated it with the boot Poo going on...Especially Your Booting Spree in Sapphire, Magnus...

But I like hackers cuz I know some that can make themselves as big as the tall tower and amaze n00bs, Chuck E. Cheese I cna even do that, it's just so much fun. Along with the entire room kill thing smile.gif



I liked every bit of Sherwood because it's community pretty much. It all comes down to that. And the day I quit Sherwood by an OPTION is the day that Elephants fly outta my woowee.

Its just bunch of Overwhelming Dialogues based on a freaking Mmorpg isn't it?

No offence but I am just keeping it real...

Sherwood is nothing but a Virtual land pointless to play, Yet interesting to Visit once in a while

Its just a game and we play it for world wide fame

although the Admin is to Blame that progress of the game is Lame
